Each year CTO Craft works with Albany Insights to produce Compensation Surveys interviewing over 500 CTOs as part of that research. Through the partnership with CTO Craft, Albany can access and provide all these services for our 20,000+ CTO Craft Member network.
Albany and CTO Craft have begun filming to launch in 2025 a new video series to help educate CTOs and our Members with stories and real-life case studies. This means we will be able to pass on valuable life-lessons from other CTOs delivering you and our Members knowledge about how to deal with overcoming “Recruitment” related challenges and other key issues.
When we asked successful CTOs we found they understood that if you put in place the right recruitment strategy you are more likely to improve the retention of key staff. What people don’t know is that research has shown that there is a 70%+ improvement in retention when recruitment is done properly.
Organisations don’t really talk about ‘Downsizing’ during their business cycles but again companies that do put in place the right strategy to address this challenge are more likely to survive and when the business cycle returns to an upturn be in a position to truly thrive.

Meet Albany
Henry Draper – Managing Partner, Albany
Henry brings over a decade of experience in Executive Search, where he consistently delivers value by placing transformative Technology and Product Executives in high-impact roles. He specializes in addressing complex leadership challenges within technology and product functions, helping organizations navigate critical hiring decisions. Henry has an established track record of partnering with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms, working closely with their portfolio companies to drive growth and innovation through strategic talent acquisition.
Before joining Albany, Henry served as an Executive Search Partner at La Fosse Associates, where he led the Technology practice, with a focus on placing CTOs in VC and PE-backed businesses. He holds a BSc in Architectural Engineering from Westminster.

David has broad experience in tech recruiting and executive search across a variety of sectors including banking, automotive and tech startups across Europe. His focus for the last few years has been on interim, fractional and advisory engagements, typically relating to Private Equity backed businesses. He runs Albany’s Interim division and is always interested in meeting tech and product leaders keen to move into a more independent, project-based way of working.
